How do I prepare for a tooth extraction?

The dentist will do an X-ray of the mouth. Make sure that you tell the dentist about all the medications you are taking along with supplements, vitamins, and over-the-counter drugs. 

Make sure that you inform the dentist about the following conditions:

  • A congenital heart defect
  • Diabetes
  • Liver disease
  • An artificial joint
  • Thyroid disease
  • Renal disease
  • Hypertension
  • Damaged heart valves
  • Adrenal disease
  • An impaired immune system
  • History of bacterial endocarditis

The dentist will make sure that your condition is stable or treated before you undergo the treatment.
